JOAD Leagues
Archery Addictions is proud to sponsor Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD).
JOAD is a program of USA archery that is designed to teach and promote the sport of archery to young people, over a series of classes taught by a certified archery instructor. It stresses getting a bow in hand quickly (instead of boring kids with lectures), yet doing so safely, and focuses on the positive aspects of the sport.
JOAD is open to any youth aged 7 to 20 and is designed to grow with the archer as their skill level grows, giving them the opportunity to earn achievement pins and to compete at any level in state, regional and national tournaments.
JOAD offers both recurve and compound archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters focus, increased self-confidence, and team skills.
JOAD is a 12 week program, meeting one night each week throughout the 12 week period. There are two days and times that will be available for each the beginner and advanced classes, though class selection is subject to availability at the time of registration. So it is recommended to register as soon as possible. Cost per JOAD 12-week session is $150.00 for our beginner class and $175 for our advanced class. This covers the costs of coaches and instructors, range fees and equipment rental.
